The King’s University’s Micah Centre is an interdisciplinary initiative for the purpose of fostering greater understanding and action among students, faculty and staff, and the community at large around issues of global poverty, peacemaking & reconciliation, and social justice.  It aims to bring the claims of the Hebrew prophet – to ‘do justice, to show mercy, and to walk humbly with God’ – into the global context of hunger, displacement, poverty, war, inequity, and environmental destruction.  The successful candidate for this position will work with the director of the Micah Centre to expand the research and public outreach components of the centre.  Teaching undergraduate courses focused on theology and  justice will also be an important part of integrating the research and outreach with the educational experience of King’s students.

Counselling Psychologist
Administrative Position: Part-Time
Open Date: 3/7/24

Under the direction of the Dean of Students and led by the Coordinator of Wellness and Counselling Services/Lead Psychologist regarding professional practice and therapeutic work, the part-time Counselling Psychologist provides current students with short-term counselling and referrals to community supports (e.g., medical, psychiatry, and counselling). The Counselling Psychologist may also be involved with mental health outreach, preventative action, in-service training and assistance for crisis response, and consultation services to students and other members of the university community.   

This is a contract position serving 4-15 hours a week September through April, pending agreed-upon Counselling Team schedule.

Reporting to the Director of Recruitment & Admissions, the Admissions Student Advising Manager will be experienced in working with prospective students and their families during the application and admission process. They will be responsible for leading a team of admissions advisors in converting prospective student inquiries into applications, admissions, and registrations.
