Student Achievements
King's students impact their communities and the world. Through hard work, academic excellence, and compassion, they live out the call to bring renewal and reconciliation to every walk of life as followers of Jesus Christ.
Governor General's Academic Silver Medal
The Silver Academic Medal is awarded to the undergraduate student whose graduating average demonstrates impressive academic achievement and excellence. This is the most prestigious award Canadian undergraduate students can receive.
King's presents the Governor General's Academic Silver Medal on behalf of the Governor General to the student with the highest graduating GPA, calculated based on the last 60 credit days of study. Current and past recipients represent the determination and scholarly commitment of Canadian academic excellence and stand alongside notable recipients like Pierre Trudeau, Tommy Douglas, Kim Campbell, Robert Stanfield, and Gabrielle Roy.

Current Recipient
The 2023-24 recipient for the Governor General's Academic Silver Medal is Bethany Snaterse.
Bethany received a Bachelor of Science in Biology at King’s, followed by a Bachelor of Education. One of her fondest memories from her time at King’s was participating in the modules with her secondary education cohort, specifically the Indigenous module. She is currently teaching science and math in Edmonton, and enjoying every minute of it. She loves to play Mario Party and watch Oilers hockey in her free time.
