Record Check Requirements

You will be required to obtain the following record checks before you begin your field experience placement. 

  • Vulnerable Sector Police Information Check 
  • Child Intervention Record Check

There may be a fee to have the record checks completed. On the forms when asked to indicate the institution, it is recommended that you use “The King’s University”, and when asked what course/position, to use “practicum student” or “practicum placement”. 

Vulnerable Sector Police Information Check 

Contact your local Police Service:

  • Edmonton and surrounding area (Beaumont, Fort Saskatchewan, Leduc, Morinville, Sherwood Park, Spruce Grove, St. Albert, Stony Plain) – Edmonton Police Service - follow their instructions and apply online for a Vulnerable Sector Police Information Check 
  • Elsewhere in Alberta – contact your local police service - RCMP 
  • British Columbia – Police Information Check-Vulnerable Sector Check (PIC-VS) – Contact your local police service (e.g., Vancouver Police Department) or RCMP Division 
  • Other Canadian Provinces – contact your local police service - RCMP 
  • International – contact your local police service
