Piano or Vocal Pedagogy at The King's University

Choose King's Piano or Vocal Pedagogy stream and be prepared for a rewarding career teaching others to play the piano. Studying Piano or Vocal Pedagogy will equip you to teach the instrument effectively. Topics such as lesson observation, mentoring, and techniques and methods provide the skills and practical experience necessary to teach beginning and intermediate level musicians. Students will also be exposed to courses designed to help launch and run a thriving music studio.

This innovative program can lead to further graduate study, adjudication opportunities with the Royal Conservatory of Music and more.

Course selection

In addition to the required general courses for the Music program, students specializing in the Piano or Vocal Pedagogy stream should take the following:
