Derrick Timmermans Memorial Award
The Derrick Timmermans Memorial Award was created by students of King’s to honour the memory of their friend and classmate who tragically lost his life as the result of an automobile accident in February of 2008. Derrick’s Degree (B.Com) was awarded posthumously at the King’s Convocation Ceremony on May 3, 2008.
The purpose of this award is to ensure that Derrick’s legacy of service and discipleship within the King’s community is remembered by allowing graduating students of King’s to nominate a fellow graduating peer for this award. This award is open to all students in their final year of study at King’s.
Nominated students must demonstrate these qualities:
- Service to the community-at-large
- Involvement within the King’s community
- Christian discipleship
The King's University will present the certificate of award and monetary prize to the recipient at Last Lecture as part of Celebrate King's Week. In addition, the bearer’s name will be engraved on a memorial plaque which is on continual public display at King’s in the North Academic Building (NAB).
Please nominate one of your graduating peers you think encompasses Derrick’s legacy of service, community involvement, and discipleship.
